Our first event! Guru Nanak Prakash Purab
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕਾਖਾਲਸਾਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫਤਿਹ!
Our first workshop with Mata Sahib Deva Sikhia took place on the Parkash Purab of Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee Mahraj. What a day to start off our new venture! This year has been a world wind of change, we've all had to find a new normal, a new way of working and connecting with our loved ones and most importantly staying connected with our Guru. Last week's workshop helped us learn and connect with Guru Nanak Dev Jee Mahraj, to celebrate Their coming to the earth and into our lives, to also demonstrate the power of love and sangat and to show us how important Their Parkash was to the whole world.
The workshop had two components- the first to tell the story of the Guru Sahib's Parkash Purab. Detailing what the world was like, what people, nature and the earth lacked and what they cried out to Akaal Purakh for. The second- was the creative side where we asked for everyone to put onto paper their interpretation of what the earth was like before Guru Sahib's arrival and after.
Some feedback we receieved:
We would like to thank everyone who joined our first workshop. This was a moment for us to reconnect with sangat, tell a beautiful sakhi and learn together creatively. Our favourite part of the workshop was seeing the different interpretation in the creative element.
This workshop series was particuarly special - not only did it mark the beginning of this project, but we were also able to share with the Sangat some stories and qualities of Sampooran Bhramgiani Baba Jaswant Singh Jee, who merged back with Akaal Purakh Vaheguru on 20th November 2020. Although Their departure has left a huge hole in our hearts, we are grateful for the time we were able to spend with Them. One of Their messages that they would constantly share with Sangat was 'Simran and Seva', and we hope that with this project, we are able to become closer to Akaal Purakh ourselves, and for others to be inspired, through Gurmat and Gurbani, to become greater reflections of the One.
